We accept all major credit cards, cash & local checks.
A 50% deposit of the total flight cost must be received to create and hold your reservation.
Flights must be paid in full prior to boarding the aircraft.
Weight limits apply to all flights:
- Bell Jet Ranger clients – maximum weight per person is 350 pounds
- Robinson Raven clients – maximum weight per person is 300 pounds
Children who have not yet reached their second birthday may be held on a lap (no charge).
Children over two years old must have their own seat; ask us about reduced rates for kids under 10 years of age (weight dependent)
Flights may be cancelled by the client or Tanalian Aviation for any reason.
Refund policy applies to all cancellations.
Full refunds, including deposits, given for flights cancelled by the client a minimum of 7 days prior to the flight.
No deposit will be refunded for flights cancelled within 7 days of the flight date.
Tanalian Aviation will gladly reschedule a flight that cannot be completed due to a weather issue. The date & time will be mutually agreed upon by Tanalian Aviation and the client.
If Tanalian Aviation cancels a flight for any reason, the client may choose a refund or to reschedule.
NOTE – Only Tanalian Aviation can cancel a tour due to weather. Tanalian Aviation will determine if the weather is proper for the flight to be conducted. If a client cancels claiming “poor weather” and Tanalian Aviation does not agree and would have flown, the client will not be refunded their deposit as per our cancellation policy.
Activities included in the tour such as dog sledding, kayaking, fishing, etc. are considered an integral part of the “flight”. Any reference to a “flight” below is assumed to also pertain to an activity outside of flying where a helicopter is used to go to or from the location activity.
Can I book a flight the same day I want to fly?
If you would like to book a same day flight, please give us a call at 907-280-8023. While we can’t guarantee availability for walk-in customers, we will do everything we can to put you on an available tour. We do schedule regularly throughout the day, so contact us for availability!
Why am I asked for my weight to book a flight tour?
The helicopters are subject to weight and balance restrictions, so we do enforce our helicopter specific weight capacity per seat. You may purchase two seats if required.
Can I bring my phone on the flight?
There are no electronic restrictions. Feel free to bring your cameras, cell phones, Go Pro’s, etc. to capture your flight.
What should I wear?
Weather changes quickly in Alaska, especially in the mountains. We encourage clients to wear/bring appropriate seasonal layers to provide maximum comfort during your flightseeing experience. For those landing on Knik Glacier, please refrain from wearing sandals or dress shoes. We ask that you wear hiking boots or hard soled shoes as we will be providing traction devices to slip over your shoes while on the glacier.
Does my gift certificate expire?
Gift Certificates are valid for six months from the date of purchase. Honoring them after expiration is at our sole discretion.
It’s looking like rain today, is my flight still going?
A few drops won’t keep you on the ground. However, flightseeing tours will not depart in heavy rains, thunderstorms, low visibility or other extreme weather conditions. Feel free to contact us at 907-280-8023 if you have any questions about weather delays or rescheduling. We will make every effort to reschedule your flight in the face of such delays.
What happens if my flight is delayed?
There are few conditions which would cause operational delays, including unfavorable weather, airspace closures, and equipment irregularities. Tanalian Aviation reserves the right to upgrade, alter or reschedule any flightseeing tours due to such conditions.
Where do I park?
We have parking available in front of our hangar, on the 5th Avenue side of Merrill Field.
We are visitors in town, do you offer a pick-up service?
Tanalian Aviation is proud to partner with our local lodging industry and will happily provide complimentary shuttle services to and from local Anchorage hotels to our hangar at Merrill Field.
